I have 2 categories of beats, customs and library beats.
I keep a library of beats that I work on in my spare time... these are my babies... worked on over weeks and months of tweeking. I usually make them with a specific future project in mind, for instance a demo to drop in just the right hands... I'll let them go only to the right artist and I'm taxin... they cost more than the customs.
Custom beats are created with the artists' direct input in my studio.. I sit down with the artist, figure out what they are looking for, what style they want, what types sounds they want, the exact tempo and so forth, listen to examples of other artists they like, etc... Once we're speaking the same language you can hum or sing a section of the song to me and I can translate that into music.
I prefer to do custom beat for my artists for a couple reasons... first I know that getting the artists' input on the track makes it reflect more of their style and personality. Secondly, you will see me making this beat, you will know 100% that I didnt rip it off some other cat or grab it from some free beats site on the web... You're not gonna have some lawyer coming after YOU cause I ripped some other cat off... If I was working with a producer, I know I'd want to see him work, and if I was making an investment in my music career, I know I wouldnt be taking chances with some internet cat thats just throwin around a gang of beats for $20 each... do you know where they came from? Are you sure?
All beats come with full customization at no extra charge, meaning I sit down with the artist to format the beat, setting the length and placement of intros, hooks, verses, and outros... plus any extras they want on the track. This process continues until the artist is 100% happy with the track. At that point we can bounce the track to stereo if your engineer prefers, or you can get it tracked out individually as wav files for a little extra $$...
Payment is 1/2 up front and 1/2 on delivery, but generally we wont need more than one session to get one done. I give discounts on beats if 4 or more are purchased at the same time and payment is 100% up front. I also have a simple one page contract that states that you own the beat, that you paid for it, and that its sale is exclusive to you, meaning I cant sell it to someone else. This is a professionally prepared document that protects both of our rights and will come in real handy with a label thats wondering about its liabilty on your project... meaning if you get picked up, your label is going to want to see documentation on where your beats came from (if they're smart). They don't want lawyers coming after them either. If you don't have it in writing they'll probably make you redo the beat. Well, they'll probably try to get you to redo the beat anyway using their producers and make some of their advance back off the flip... but thats another story.
If there and any particular beats on the website you are interested in, let me know right away. I'll put them on layaway for you for $5 and mark them as HOLD on the site for 1 month.
